All About Irvy
by Gail Chase
When I first met Irvy, he was at the local animal shelter, waiting to be adopted. Of course, there were other kittens there too, but what sold me on him was his sweet disposition because when I picked up other kittens, they would fidget and fuss and try to get away. However, when I picked Irvy up, he gave me the sweetest kiss on my cheek. After that, I knew my search had ended. We had found each other. Up until the end, I would affectionately call Irvy my "Little Shelter Boy." Whenever Irvy would hear the microwave on in the evenings after dinner, he knew I was making coffee. As soon as it was ready, he would come over and sit by me to wait for his spoon of whipped cream. As a matter of fact, I had a pet photographer come and take pictures of Irvy when he was just a little kitten and one of my most cherished photos I have is the one of Irvy licking the nozzle of a can of whipped cream. Irvy was indeed my very special little "shelter boy."
