When we walked into the store that day
I didn't know there'd be
The cutest little blue persian
Staring back at me
I felt my heart just melt
The moment our eyes met
And when we left the store that day
Your face I couldn't forget
I tried to throw hints to your Dad
But he didn't seem to hear
It was like everything I was saying
Just fell upon deaf ears
I think it was about 3 days later
Your Dad came pulling in the drive
I seen him get a box from the car
And wondered what could be inside
As he got closer to the door
I couldn't believe it when I saw
A box with a picture of a bird on it
And sticking out a little blue paw
We quickly named you Mischief
Cuz you were such a nosey guy
You were our little Babycakes
The apple of our eye
For almost 16 years
You were our special guy
And when the vet gave us the news
All I could do was cry
It just couldn't be possible
It just could not be
An awful disease called CRF
Was gonna take you away from me
The following days were just awful
I didn't know what I should do
Was I keeping you alive for me
Or was I doing it for you
It wasn't long before
you let us know the time was here
We took you to the vets
and let them know that we'd be there
There wasn't any way
We'd leave you all alone
We wanted our face to be the last you saw
Before your journey home
When we got into the room
We just stood there and cried
Who would have ever thought
We'd lose our special guy
God must have wanted somebody special
So he decided he would take
You our precious baby
Our Mischief, Our Babycakes
We Love and Miss you Mischief
