I had lost a Cocker Spaniel about three years before Precious came into my life. A friend saw an add in the paper advertising Cocker Spaniel puppys. They went and looked at the puppys without my knowing. They had taken a snap shot of her and brought it to me. They said she is yours. She was only 4 wks. at the time. I had another 2 to 3 wks. to waite. It was the longest time in my life. The day finally came and I was so excited. We went to pick her up and she just layed on me like she knew I was hers. The first few days were long. I let her sleep with me since she was so little I needed to be close to her and know she was safe. A week went by and she just wasn't acting like she should. I called the vet and they wanted me to take her in for another check up. She was a very sick puppy. She was put on medication and a special food. I took her home. It still wasn't helping. We must have made a trip to the vet 2 times a week for the first couple of months. Alot of those trips were emergency visits. We finally got he health under control. She finally made a year old. I had her in the tub giving her a bath and she started acting funny. I called the vet crying. He said it sounded like she was having a seizure. I cryed so hard. I didn't want to loose her after everything she has already been throug. I forgot to mention. The people she was gotten from were a puppy mill. With the help of Precious and the vet we helped put them out of buisiness. After her first seizure. It was only a couple of days and she had another on. I called the vet again. They did blood work and put her on medication again. It helped. But precious had started to change. She wouldn't let my youngest son near me. She would growl at him and sometimes bite at him. One time she attacted him causing six stitches by his mouth. We watched her closley after that. But she did it again. Thank god this time she didn't cause him to have stitches. I had to make a choice at that point. It was the hardest decision I ever had to make. I had to have her put to sleep. I cryed for days. I had a hard time dealing with life. I missed her more than I thought I could miss anything. But in my heart she sent me another very special girl. Her name is Angel. She was named this before I even saw her. She was also born on Christmas day. Her registered name is Honey's Precious Angel. The Honey comes from another special Cocker I had for 13 years. And believe me she is an Angel sent from Precious. Thank you for letting me share my story and for taking time to read it.
