I remember when I saw you in October so many weeks ago.You were in a cage with your twin sister. We hadn't come to the pound to adopt. We came to help, but whe
n we saw your big brown-green eyes it was love at first site.I told the ladies we will take these two.The lady boxed them both up.She said to pick them up in the morning. So the next morning we came back with two gray-and-white older kittens. We named the girl Kiko and the boy Smokey.Since Kiko was my step sisters cat her full name was Kiko Perugini.Smokey was my cat so his name was Smokey Berry, but since Smokey was Kiko's brother they couldn't have different names so Smokey became Smokey Perugini Berry and Kiko was Kiko Berry Perugini. Then a few weeks went by and I saw a commercial about Smokey the Bear.I thought that would be a good name so my cat was now Smokey Bear Perugini Berry. My dad said they sounded like Donald Duck when they sneezed so my cat had his final name which was Smokey Bear Donald Duck Perugini Berry. Then on November 22nd 2003 we let Smokey go outside. The next day he didn't return,so that night we went out looking for him,but we didn't find anything. My brother and I gave up looking, but my dad didn't.He went around the block one more time. When he came back he said he didn't find anything. So I went to bed.The next morning I got out of bed to check on the puppy we were fostering. My dad came in the room and said that he had found Smokey in the middle of the street.Smokey had been hit by a car.I cried a lot that day.I couldn't believe that my baby boy who was still a kitten could have gotten hit by a car and died.I prayed three times that day and I prayed once this morning.Smokey Bear I miss you little guy,but I know it was time for you to go.God needed you more.I hope you will be waiting for me at the bridge
