Ambassador Wally
by Bernadette Mroz.........................................
I got Wally(GR) when she was 8 months old, sometime in 1990. She was to be a guide dog. When x-rayed, she had severe hip and elbow dysplasia. Wally became the role-model for other guides we raised as well as one for other guide puppies in our area. She entertained local Rotary Clubs, Lions and Kiwanis, telling the story of what it was to be a guide dog - and why she couldn't be one of the elite. She thrived on visiting schools - winning children scared of dogs - over with her gentileness and smile.

Wally was loved by young and old. Going to nursing homes was her favoriite duty. She'd waddle in, tail wagging and a big smile. She was so polite and gracious - so endearing.

She crossed the Rainbow Bridige 12/19/2005. She never asked/demanded anything - she begged for the peace of over the Bridge. We obliged - though not wishing to.

We know she now plays with Yellsea(GS), Nina(Dobe), Goldie, Remmington... Also her human friends: Uncle Hank, Martha, Sandy and Sylvia.

Wally, Merry Christmas, there's treats in your stocking, we love you.
