Its one year ago today that I had to say Goodbye to you Hobbit, and it hasn't gotten any easier. Oh sure, I don't cry over you every day, and I can even smile when talking about some of the silly things you used to do, but I miss you.
I wonder what you are doing...who is watching over you. Is my grandpa walking you? Is Daddy's grandma making you meatballs for breakfast? Is someone there to scritch your ears the way you like?
We are going to plant your tree this fall. I have your collar and some your fur that I will bury at the base of the tree. It will be our Hobbit tree.
You may be absent from my life, but never from my heart.
xxxoooxxx and lots of scritches,
Mommy
