Dana
by Debbie Belak
Dana, my 12 year old german shepherd passed a way 5/18/04. We had her since she was 3 months old. That dreaded day had come when we knew it was time to take her to the vets to be put to sleep. She was ill and senile, did not have a clue what was going on as we brought her there. The vets had a room ready for us, with a blanket on the floor for Dana to lay comfortably. She went very peacefully as i held onto her.As she left i asked her to please come back to me so i can see she is alright. A week later in my sleep i was hearing Dana barking. As i lay in a twilight sleep, my other shepherd Holly who passed in 2003 appeared from behind a tree. She saw me and stopped, looking at me. She was so magestric looking. Then a few yards from her, appeared another shepherd, who saw me and stopped. She was looking right at me and smiling. She had a beautiful coat, full, shinny and a muscular body. Her face was a bit darker though. I realized it was Dana. Instead of her old, thin graying body, she looked as if she did when she was younger. She came back to me along with my other dog, Holly. Now i know they are together again at Rainbow Bridge. They looked very magestic, content and in a higher form, for i was not able to touch them. My beautiful dogs. i miss them so much. But i'm glad they have a place to be where they are healthy and happy. I will meet with them again one day. Until now, i can rest assured they are at peace and cared for by our loving Father in Heaven.
