by Renee' Beagle
they brought me up when i was young
to win them wealth and fame,
but when i lost a race or two
they soon forgot my name.
my life was full of loneliness,
i spent hours in my crate.
i'd watch my friends pass me by,
i'd gaze into their sad, frightend eyes
never to see them agian.
one day i was out on the track,
i heard the starting gun
i ran fast as i could
but another dog had won.
suddenly it was over
the cheers had finally died
they grabbed me by my collar
and drug me back inside
they yelled and screamed and cursed at me
even though i really tried
late that night they took me for a ride
my body began to trimble,
my heart began to race
but then i saw your face.
oh, i was so scared
i was certain this was then end
i never dreamed you came to me to be my friend
i would like to thank you so much
i'm having so much fun
and i know i have to leave now
but please don't be sad
please remember all the fun times we had
