We will never forget the night we brought you home. It was raining and walking through the mall I heard a little boy tell his mother - Mummy, they have a cat in that box. We stopped to pick up food for you and when we got home you immediately began to explore the rooms of the condo to find your special place. My wife had never had a cat as a child but once Misty came into our lives (she is a grey tabby and only weighs 9 pounds) she bonded with her and discovered a love for Misty that she did not know existed. We never had children and Misty became her special daughter and it warmed my heart to watch the two of them playing and just being with each other.
Misty is 15 years old this month and today is the saddest day of our lives because we have to have her euthanized because of tumors in her lungs and there is no cure for this.
Eventually we moved into a house and not too long after that Misty found her favorite sleeping spot - in the spare bedroom with the sun streaming in the window warming her small and delicate body. She also liked to explore in her back yard and snooze on the deck in the summer as we cooked out or just relaxed. Once when we were in the condo she climbed up on the awning in the breezeway on the second floor and slid down and onto the ground, but was not hurt. Another time I remember as my wife was cutting up chicken for dinner she jumped on her legs and climbed up to the top looking for a treat.
There are so many wonderful memories and pictures of Misty that will live with us forever and she will never be forgotten and will always be loved. She will always be with us as we are going to have her cremated and her ashes will be with us as a constant reminder of the love and loyalty that we have in our hearts for her.
"Boo Girl" we will miss you and love you forever and we know that one day we will see you again in Rainbow Bridge and the pain and sadness will be no more.
