Remembering
by Ute Anderson
Remembering What's that you have? A brand new bow! Come closer, let me see. Have you been up to Ute's? You're as pretty as can be! Coat so soft and shiny, Color black as night. Bright eyes filled with spirit, Small and dainty size, just right. Ever the enthusisast, The curiosity of a cat. You ruled the roost, A real queen bee. That's all there was to that! Chasing squirrels and chippies, Even trying to climb trees. Trying to catch hummingbirds, Butterflies and bees. Always the protector Keeping watch up to the end. Never just a little dog, but a true and loyal friend. The nerve of people you don't know To come into your yard! Didn't they know you were here To constantly stand guard? Planes would fly above you When they simply had no right! You'd get mad when you looked up And saw the blinking lights. Never cared that much for toys, Didn't bother much at all, Exept for one stuffed animal And a little rubber ball. One day it got away from you, Bless your little heart! No one there to help you So you tore the couch apart! Now you were in trouble, Not much said in your behalf. When I found out it broke me up, All I could do was laugh! Dundee,s little pride and joy! God's precious little gift. You always knew just what to do, To give my heart a lift. No matter what may happen, What time may bring to pass, I'll never love another More than Midnight Maggie Lass.
