Oh, how I dreaded this day,
but I knew there was no other way,
you were suffering and crying,
but still I couldn't accept you
dying.
They put you in that cage as you
growled and hissed,
And I walked away quickly, for I
knew you'd be missed.
But it didn't hit me until that night,
as I walked through the fading light,
and found the little cross where you once
had played...
And my tears flowed like rain.
