Lilly came to us at 08.01.2001, in the pet-store they told us that Lilly is a little female pig.
Five days later she knew her name and began whistleing whenever we called her. She was such a funny pig and looked like smiling everytime.
A few weeks later, we noticed that "Lilly" wasn't a Lilly, but a "Lillerich"- she was a "he"....;-)
That was no problem for us, and a few days later he should get a friend. So we bought a little male guinea-pig for him, and they were so big friends- but then we noticed that the people in the store gave us a female pig.....So we had male and female.
About a year they didn't make babies and were best friends. But then, one night, I woke up and they made babies. So I thought about going to the vet with the male to let him perate my pig that it can be together with his girlfriend and their babies.
The operation was a normally thing and routine for a vet. He gave the still sleeping pig to me and we went home, and the pig was still sleeping, even after about three hours. I began to worry.
Suddenly my pig didn't get enough air, and my mother took it out of the cage. We got into the car for driving to the vet, and while driving I tried to resuscitate the little pig. But it died in my arms. His nose and his feet became white and he didn't breath anymore :-(((((
I began screaming and crying, my mother, too. When we arrived at the vet's house, the vet gave medicines, but it was too late. My endless-loved pig was dead. It was unbelievable. I thought only "That must be an bad dream!"....
My pig had a nice life, with many vegetables, much grass and a nice friend. But that life was too short. And I still think his dead is only my fault because I didn't think long enough of the operation, if it is real necessary....my pig could still live.....:-(
I miss it endlessly. I would give everything to get it back.
But I knwo that we will meet again, when the time is right.
Good bye, little Lilly, you are in my heart. I will never forget you.
