Welcome to Xena's Rainbow Bridge Memorial Residency
Memories of Xena
Our rescue girl came to us 7 years ago so full of fear, anxiety all through her body. The dog who weighed only 50 lbs. that no one wanted was going to be put down in a couple hours. We took her home. She was a mess, cringing at my touch, fearful, so scared. I whisper to her laying in her bed, " your home now, your safe, you can trust us, you'll always be loved". Then sickness, back surgery, more sickness then....cancer. I keep loving her, telling her, " we're never leaving you, we will always take care of you" She learned to relax, to trust, to play and accept our love. Slowly a beautiful change came into her eyes. Her heritage of regal grace, nobility and confidence became her true nature in spite of the many health problems she endured. My beautiful Xena girl of golden colors of autumn, black markings drawn by God around your eyes, a black star on your forehead. You were always so good and so grateful for your life healed from brokenness. You learned to become the queen and learned the manners of your royalty. You did not beg but expected as a queen. My beautiful girl, my friend, When majesty does not walk upon this earth I sorrow the loss of your presence but know you are now at peace running and playing with Buddy and Jasmine in the meadow.|
9/30/2014 One week today.Has it only been 1 week? I still expect to see you in your favorite chair or on the couch, I still look for you when I walk in the door. I keep thinking I need to check on you to see if your ok. My heart is so heavy with your loss ,I wake up thinking of how your not here but knowing your in a better place now. You are well and strong and can run and play and be free of your pain. Your finally able to run again. Daddy and I have shed many tears over you and we miss you more than words can express. Sending you all our love and remembering how you changed over time with loving pets and to be near us. I know you are playing with Buddy and Jasmine and all the other new friends you have made there.
Please also visit Buddy and Jasmine.
