Memories of Woody
You came to us in a roundabout way - through an acquaintance at work. I can remember that first night with you. We went out to eat and when we came home there you were waiting outside on the front door step. You had jumped through the front window but hadn't run away. This began our wonderful journey together. I miss coming home from work and going for a run and swim with you. You always gave me something to look forward to each day. When we brought Webster home you adopted him and took him everywhere and showed him the way. I see you in him every day. The day you went to the Bridge Webster cried for you and searched the house looking for you. He still goes to your favorite spot outside and looks to see if you left any pieces of pig's ear behind. I know that your discomfort and illness are gone and you are happy and at peace at the Bridge. I pray that you know we let you go out of the deepest love for you. We couldn't let you suffer and be in pain anymore. I awake each day and lay my head down each night with you always in my thoughts. We love you more than words can say. Goodbye my friend - I will see you again. You keep Harley, Lassie and Magnum with you. I hope you can find Zepplin too. Watch for me at the bridge. I will be there very soon. I will let you know. **05/18/05** It has been a year since you left for the bridge. Not a day has passed that you are not missed, loved and remembered. I know you are taking good care of our family - Harley, Lassie and Magnum. Webster and Delilah still look for you. I will see you soon my friend. **12/23/05** It was 12 years ago tonight Harley came to us. Take special care of him on this special night my friend. **05/18/06** Woody, it has been 2 years since your journey to the bridge. It seems like yesterday. I have many lonely times for the reason we are apart. But I never have a lonely thought because you are in each and every one of them. You are forever in my heart. Take the best care of Harley, Magnum and Lassie. See you soon my friend. **05/18/07** Woody, it is now 3 years you have been at the bridge. I hope you are running free and having fun with Harley, Lassie and Magnum. I miss you so much. Webster has grown up to be so much like you. He enjoys his pig's ear each day and still looks to see if you left any pieces behind for him. Take good care of everyone. I will see you soon my friend. **08/02/07** Today is my birthday and Webster and I are relaxing and enjoying the day. We feel you very close. I knew you wouldn't forget. Thanks for remembering my friend. Harley is here too. **5/18/08** Woody, 4 years have passed since you went to the bridge. Our lives changed forever. My tears have lessened but my heart still crys for you. I began my final journey to reunite with you, Harley, Lassie, and Magnum at the bridge, but for unknown reasons it was interrupted and I was returned. My health has failed so I know I will see you soon. Watch for me my friend. I am so excited to be with you again. **05/18/09** Woody, 5 years have passed since you went to the bridge. Though my heart is heavy and my life will never be the same without you, I am smiling knowing that you are safe and happy with Harley, Lassie and Magnum. Webster still comes to me every night to lick the ice cream bowl just as you taught him, but I always remember you. Watch for me my friend. I will see you soon.
