Memories of Thunder
I got you from the shelter when you were 3 months old and had you for 15 beautiful, memorable years. I wish I could have many more years with you. Thunder was an absolutely awesome companion and I don't think I could ever find one that could replace him. He loved eating apples and barked at me every night at 8pm for his special treat of doggie ice cream. I'll never know how he knew what time it was but you could set your watch to it he was so accurate. I am totally heartbroken and will forever miss him but I had to let him go. He had a cancerous tumor on his leg and due to that and his age he had trouble getting up and down. I didn't want him in pain so I had to decide to let go knowing I will see him again. He is now with my other to rescue dogs, Cheyenne, who he was best friends with. He grieved her loss for a long time and Sue, who was a Basenji he played with. I'm sure Cheyenne was excited to see him and she will gladly "show him the ropes" and they can happily play again; healthy again, running around Heaven with all the other furbabies and getting so excited to have all the new friends to play with.
