Welcome to Sheba's Rainbow Bridge Memorial Residency
Memories of Sheba
You were born at a riding stable. By 3 months of age, you were badly abused and terrified. Your kittens were wrenched away from you. They locked you in a shed with other animals and were going to gas you with the carbon monoxide from a car exhaust. But someone told Animal Aid and they came and got you. You were
so fearful that you were impossible to adopt out for over a year. You thought no one wanted you but I did. I brought you home. You hadn't purred ever at Animal Aid but you purred for me the second night that I owned you. They told me that once I earned your confidence, you would really be devoted and they were surely right!!! You became the most wonderful pet that I could imagine. You never went meow, always murr. You calmed me down when I was hurting. You were never any trouble. I felt it was time for you to have a cat friend so along came another tortie, Tigger. The years went by. You were always loyal, faithful Sheba. When I met your new Mommy, you taught her how much you loved to be brushed. And how to get up early to give you your special snack. She took such good care of you also. You had a weakness for catnip, snoozing in the sun and hitting the little bell on your plastic fishing pole. And oh that neat wet cat food in the morning. Eventually your kidneys wore out. Your heart developed a murmur. There was nothing that could be done. We took you to the vet and she gently helped you cross the rainbow bridge. We miss you terribly. We miss the pitter-patter of your little feet coming down our hallway. But we are that much closer to seeing you again. You couldn't have given us more love, Sheba, right to the last day. What a cat for one that no one wanted!
Sept 29/14- Sheba: We're so happy that you've been free for 11 years now and home with the Lord. We still miss being around you just as much! But we're 6 years closer to seeing you again.
