Rescued when he was 5.5yrs, from a volatile man who couldn't look after Syrol. It was clear Syrol had been hit. It took six months before he really wagged his tail. Syrol fitted in straight away. Extremely sociable with other dogs. Very loyal. Recall brilliant. A loving heart. A top notch pedigree with 12 champions amount his antecedents. The only time you would hear him bark was when chasing squirrels, rabbits, deer, foxes, and, mice. The serial killer instinct was part of his adorable and loving character. Due to the abuse he suffered, there was a sadness and timidity about Syrol. It was so sad to see. Lost for 24hrs. We were frantic with worry. Finally he popped out of a Badger Sett. A couple of puncture wounds from tree roots as he struggled to get out. Removed at least 112 tics from him! Twice more stuck down holes - but managed to free himself with encouragement after an hour or so. Syrol was a very brave boy and became progressively poorly. Why oh why didn't I take him to the vet sooner? I'll never forgive myself for that; nor, the suffering he must have endured. I buried him in the garden. His doggy-companion owners bought a Bay Tree and a rose-bush(appropriately named Born Free) for his grave. Syrol was the linchpin for walkies. Since his passing, his furry companions show little or no enthusiasm for walkies, zoomies, playing tug-o-war or with their toys. I wish he could be resurrected as Lazarus was. He has left a huge hole in our hearts. Life is so empty without him. Devastated and heartbroken. I'm totally bereft. In the words of a bereaved owner on a YouTube clip: 'Grief is the love that is left over'. My darling Syrol Wagtail, there remains tons of love in my heart. In days gone by Syrol, Syrol,
