Welcome to Spike's Rainbow Bridge Memorial Residency
Memories of Spike
When Spike first came to be he was the sweetest little pup dog. He feel asleep on my left shoulder and we were bonded for life. He always was so exited to see me and when his original owner was not taking good care of him, I begged him to let me keep him. He did and so we began our journey of unconditional love. I never owned a dog before and did not know what to expect. I quickly learned that Spike would do the most crazy, wonderful things that would cause me to fall head over heels in love with him. He had never been trained so it was always hard with him as he did not go outside for almost 7 months of his life and was given towels and sheets to use the bathroom on. All through his life he would always look for a pile of clothes or towels to use the bathroom on even right after he had gone outside. I just had to accept that about him because he was so loving and sweet, I could not be upset with him for long. I went to Europe one time for almost 1 month and when I got back he almost did a back handspring he was so happy to see me. My family used to make fun of me because I was never a "dog person" until Spike came into my life and stole my heart. He loved bitting the tops off of plastic bottles and he thought he was a big, tough dog when he would do that. When I first got Spike he did not even know how to go down stairs and when the other dogs would bark at him, he didn't even bark back. He was the most wonderful, gentle soul I've ever known and I miss him so much I can't believe it. He died a week ago today and I can't seem to stop crying but I do know that Jesus took him to play eternally in heaven with the children. I am thankful I got to have Spike in my life for the 10 years he was here. They say 10 years is a good life for an English Bulldog but it was not enough time for me. I will be so happy when I am reunited with my precious Spike dog as he meant the world to me!
