Memories of Simba
Simba was a "buy one, get one free" with the house that we bought two years ago. Upon his first checkup we found out he was riddled with kidney disease, skin and ear infections. He crept into our hearts and home so fast, and we could not love him more if he was our own blood son. A few months back he was diagnosed with aggressive bone cancer, osteosarcoma, but he put up one hell of a fight. It nearly killed us, that after we could basically bring him back completely from kidney failure, he got cancer. He was so strong and fought for us for such a long time. We never realised just how hard he was fighting for us, right until he couldn't fight anymore and heaven opened up for him.

Simba loved running around chasing his little Border Collie sister, Bella, loved soft toys and any form of chicken. He was a good dog. The best. He was not only a best friend, son, companion and protector; he was also a rescuer. He has rescued us as his parents, showing us what true beauty, love, forgiveness and selflessness is. He made our family and our home whole and he brought us so much of joy and love.

Our house is empty, but our broken hearts full of beautiful memories of this beautiful boy. We're reminded of him daily, as his presence in our home is still so strong, even in our new rescues. It's his way of reminding us that he is with us, forever. Even though he never knew them, he is now their guardian angel as well. We love him so much, and we wish he could be with us forever. We cannot wait to see him again someday soon.
