Memories of Sidney
Our hearts are broken. Our sweet kitty boy, Sidney, went to the Bridge Wednesday, December 26, 2007.

On Friday, December 7, Sid underwent surgery to remove a large mass near his intestinal wall. It turned out to be large cell lymphocyte lymphoma. In the days following his recuperation from surgery, we worked hard to get his immune system stronger before attempting cancer treatment.

Then, Sid took a turn for the worse and began having problems breathing. We took him to the ER and learned the cancer had spread to his chest and time was running out. The doctors relieved the fluid in his chest and gave him an injection of cortisone. But, then he stopped eating and went into hiding. His breathing became very labored again the day after Christmas and we knew it was time to let him go. Sadly, there was nothing else anyone could do for him.

Sid, you came to us as a young, beautiful kitten and for the past 11 years, you gave us so much love and happiness. I'm going to miss your adorable way of meowing to let us know you wanted your catnip whenever I opened the fridge!

Rest in peace our sweet boy. Kelsey and Bentley will watch over you till we are all together again someday.

Love, Mom & Dad
