This is an excerpt from Sebe's Loving Care document I wrote in 2010.|
I try to give Sebe a lot of love. I always give him attention when he wants to be petted or held. Sometimes as I pass him I tell him he's my special or my green-eyed beauty. At night right before I go to bed, I place a pillow vertically to the right of my body. This gives him support to lay partially on the pillow and partially on my chest. Once he's there every night I tell him:
It's time for your love. You've been a good boy today. You're my Cupcake; Yes you are; my Brownie Sundae, my Turtle Brownie with Caramel; you're my Pumpkin Pie Boy. Furry, Little Feet, Little Bear, Angel Boy. I pet him and cradle him and kiss him on his back or forehead. You've been loving to Mama, to Grandma, to Brother. You drank your water; you ate your food; you used your litter --good boy! It's important.
Sebe liked to go outside in the yard. I trained him to wear a harness and leash, but he trained me to hold on to it. Several times I left the leash out of my hands and he tried to catch me off guard by crossing the street to the neighbor's yard.
When he was outside he liked to eat grass. I had to watch him like a hawk to make sure he didn't eat any reptiles, worms, or insects. If he went out on the back porch he was a little easier to watch because he laid down out there a lot.
In the house, sometimes he played with the balls on the scratcher or with the toys. I'd sometimes put toys up on his perch and he'd play or toss them off. I toss them up to him and he'll bat them off. He used his scratchers a lot throughout the day. Mostly he would play with his brother Badgie. He would try to get brother to fight with him gently to get my attention. He sat on a stool and looked out the window a lot until he got sick in July of 2017. He still wanted to go outside everyday until his last day even if it was just for a few minutes. I miss him terribly.
Sebe is my love, my pride, and my joy. His birthday is celebrated May 3rd.
