Memories of Samson
Samson was a 10 year survivor of a puppy mill.No longer needed he was taken to a shelter. Samson was old-blind and crippled. No one would adopt him Every day he waited and waited. On June 10 of 2011 he was scheduled to be executed.
I heard of Samson from a friend who contacted me and asked if I could save him. Tough decision because I already had 1 Eskie and she would not be pleased. .i contacted the shelter in Indiana and asked about him .I left the next morning to go get Samson. oh 1 thing Samson hated men. He was terrified to leave the shelter. On way home I stopped at Burger King. Samson had a burger (i think it was his first). Samson and I were now best buddys. the first morning I heard thump thump thumpity thump. Samson had gone down the hallway and fell down the steps. I forgot. I now have a blind dog ..His adoption made front page news as well as Milwaukee t. v. Story was about how hard older dogs are to adopt out. Samson became really attached to me. I could not leave the room without him if I did he would sit and bark and bark and bark and then bark some more. I got him a little grew sweater to wear. He looked like a "little gentleman"One day i left home for short time and Samson had an accident in my bedroom then walked in it and then jumped on my bed with white comforter .I had little doggie poopie paw prints all over. I still have the comforter. In November Samson became sick. He continued to fail thru December. January 3 2012 Samson got his wings ,I got a broken heart
