Samantha was a very special Chocolate Labrador Retriever. I am a third grade teacher in Virginia. One of my little girls was moving the year after I taught her in third grade. I went to see her to bring her pictures of things we did in our class. I thought the world of this little girl and still keep in touch with her. When I visited her, her family's two chocolate labs had had puppies. Brooke put the little runt from the litter in my arms, and I fell instantly in love. Once a puppy enters your heart, you are never the same again. That is how it was with my Samantha. Samantha died suddenly and unexpectedly last April and it broke my heart. I am still in a kind of shock and sometimes think I will never be able to only remember the happy times and forget the pain of losing her. She was a sweet, happy, loving dog who blessed our lives for twelve years. I miss her every day. I picture Samantha running after her frisbee with her tail wagging, and it makes me smile. She is my heart and I will always love her.
