Welcome to Reba's Rainbow Bridge Memorial Residency
Memories of Reba
She came to us as a 8 week old pup and was full of life and adventure for her very short time with us. One of our first pictures is of the bathroom strewn with toilet paper and toys after she had been left for a short trip to the grocery store. I guess determined to me a Mom, she came in heat 2 months early and her partner, Rex, took advantage. We almost lost her to several massive infections the day after she delivered 12 pups, but she was determined to see her babies grow. Came home, fed and cared for 11, the first was stillborn. We lost 2 more and the vet says it is a miracle we raised 9 after being exposed to the infections in utero. Two little girls stayed with Mom and Dad and made the move from CT to TX in 2012. Reba tried her best but the girls would not get along so together we all found a wonderful home for Winnie. Our pack of three was doing well in their new home with almost an acre fenced to run and play until Reba collapsed and had to be put down the next day. Seems she had an encounter with something that she was highly allergic to and, try and we might, we could not save her. We will always remember all the wonderful times we had with her and miss her terribly every day. Ruby visits Momma's ashes on the entertainment center and unbelievably went there the first time to stay with Momma during the first thunder storm after her death. It was very touching to see her lie by the area until the storm was over. Momma was very afraid during storms and we know Ruby wanted to comfort her. Our "two pack" has bonded and are now almost mirror images - Daddy and Daughter walking, playing and loving every day.
