Prescious came to live with me when she, her brothers and sisters were only 6 weeks old. A church members' dog had 6 puppies and they couldn't keep them. They were tiny things in a metal crate, covered in poop. I bathed them all then settled them in with my pack. |
There were 4 girls and two boys. They grew and thrived. The two boys were adopted out very quickly but the 4 girls stayed with me a while longer. Friends adopted two of the girls, leaving Callie and Prescious with me. They were good girls and seemed to be inseparable. Life was good. Then, recently, at 8 years old, Prescious became subdued and less energetic. Later, she began vomiting then stopped eating. We tried everything to get her to eat but were unsuccessful. On Sunday, February 23, we carried her to the vet urgent care to be checked out. We were told she was in Acute Renal Failure. She died Monday afternoon, February 24.
Prescious girl, I miss you so. I would have done anything to save you but your time had come. You died before I could get back to your side. I'm sure you didn't want me to see you suffer any longer. Baby, your sister misses you terribly and doesn't understand where you are. But the two of you will be together again some day at Rainbow Bridge. I am comforted knowing that your pain has ended and you are free to run again. Look and you will find Max, Kasi and ShyAnne there. Hold on tight to your brother and sisters until mommy can be with all of her babies again. Send your love down to Callie so she will know you are okay and she will see you again. Be good, my darling Prescious until mommy can hold you in her arms again!
