Memories of Peter
I first saw Peter on 'Good Morning Northland'.......He needed a FOREVER home.....his chronic condition was hyperthyrodism .......black and white cat......for some reason he pulled at my heart strings and I had to adopt him! Little did I know the seriiousness of his conditions........When he came home to the already two cat house hold.........He was 6 pounds........limp and lethargic........all but 7 of his teeth had been removed......rendering a fractured lowered jaw.........along with these problems he also had atrophied irises, drainage from both eyes, nasal ulcer snd heart murmur (grade 1), early stage of renal failure and of course hyperthyroidism.......at this time I felt he may not survive......But providing him with good food and calmness, he gained weight up to 12 pounds.......had a partial thyroidectomy our alpha cat......loving life in his new home.......but it was not without complications......there is truth to a cat having 9 lives........3-4 times Peter was brought to the vet .........lethargic.......I thought each of those times he was dying......ongoing renal failure.......diabetes......severe episode of constipation.......each time he recoved and appeared like there was nothing wrong.......continuing to live life to it's fullest........he began to loose weight again......eventually becoming very thin but that did not stop him from his role as alpha cat........he began to sleep more .......slowly deteriorating on 10/3/16 he had quit eating and no urine output in 24 hours.....hips and back legs paralyzed due to arthritis........but he clung to life........I moved him to my bed that night and early morning on 10/4/2016 he passed away........when we adopted him.......our goal was one year of quality life........but he had and gave us two and half years of companionship........loving him and he loving kisses on his head.

Please also visit LC and Ricky.
