Memories of Oskar
Oscar came into my life on 12/28/14 because his previous owner didn't want him. A very cute bassett hound/beagle mix. He crunched at least 7 of my TV controls. I tried to remember to put them up but when I slipped, he got them. Just a few weeks after getting him, he ran off. I put a warm bed and food and water outside in my garage and the next morning he was waiting for me. I was shocked he returned. Guess he liked staying with me more than I thought.
The beginning of this year, he started coughing like something was stuck in his throat. Thought a piece of plastic from the TV controls might of lodged in his throat. When I took him to veterinarian, he told me he was in heart failure. That was in April of this year. He put him on a coctkail of meds which he took all very well. About a month ago, he seemed to be doing alot better. His lungs were clear and lasix was working well. Than he suddenly didn't want to take his meds as he did. He wouldn't eat and than he was vomiting. That was about 2 weeks ago. He'd eat sparingly and nausea/vomiting went away. His eating tapered to nothing yesterday and he passed last night. I took him to Vet on Friday to put him down but the Vet wasn't there. I figured i was suppose to take him home to pass and he did very peaceably. i was there and was glad i could be with him.
