Memories of Misfit
Misfit would have been 24 in Nov, but to me she was still a kitten. We got the house in Oct of 85, and the man we got it from asked me to feed his old cat that he couldn't find, so said ok, forgot to say she wasn't fixed, so when she showed up ,you could tell she was due soon, anyways she had 5 kittens,I check on them everyday, then a bigger one(a couple weeks old) showed up and then there was 6,and came the name misfit,as she was a couple weeks old and the other 5 were only a few days old. She was very wild, and little, she hissed at anyone that got near her, including my husband. She was getting beat up outside by the bigger cats and saw she was due so on came gloves and got her and threw her in our family room, where she hissed under the desk at us all, time was she started to trust us and out she came. I fed her by hand and she had her babies which we watched grow too. She out
lived her sons ,a daughter , grandson and great grand kids, as watched her get older,I knew I had her longer than most, but still hurt on Easter when she died. She went into my daughter's closet on her stuffed toy and went to sleep forever. She is outside in back where she was born, she has red roses on her grave, so can look out the window at my mama baby girl.
