When Melvyn was a baby puppy he was so small that he entirely fit straddling Mark's arm. He only took up the space tail to nose from Mark's wrist to his elbow. Yet he grew into a gentle big boy. When he was little he used to fall asleep in my lap chewing a rawhide stick. Since he was a pup with a large litter he was used to sharing his food with his littermates. It took him a good 2 years before he quit looking over his shoulder for his littermates to have to share his dinner with them.|
One of his favorite toys was his basketball in the backyard. But being a herding dog he didn't just chase it. He would get around in front of it and herd it. He loved to run that ball.
He was the most gentle, sweet dog I ever met. We will miss you
