Memories of Max Mixon
Every so often a Dog comes into your life and changes everything.
For us, for our life, it was Max.
For seventeen wondrous years he gave us so much joy and happiness, and almost immediately
found himself in the center of our universe. His spirit and his mind left us Tuesday
in the half-light of our bedroom. Thankfully, we were saved two precious days to be with him.
In that time, we were able to say our goodbyes and tell him how much we loved him. We were able
to soak up the familiar smells of his breath, the top of his head, the tips of his tootsies. And so many kisses.
We loved him so much, but he loved us even better. He spent his life devoted to us and our little family.
We take comfort in his passing knowing that his soul, his spirit, is young again, and that he is spending his
days once again with his beloved Oma.
Rest peacefully Max, our little man. We are so grateful for the time we had with you.
