Welcome to Malachie's Rainbow Bridge Memorial Residency
Memories of Malachie
Malachie has been my baby since the day I was blessed to come across him at a Renaisance Faire. It was a hot June day and a woman was walking around with this little blonde "thing" in a waistbag (like a fanny pack but in front). I thought it was a wind up toy and then he barked at me. All of 5 wks old and he picked me out of the crowd to come visit with him. It was love at first sight. He was a pint sized living angel! As we got ready to leave the faire the "King" of the faire was also heading out. He saw my little dear and asked what his name was. When I explained that we had just entered each others life, he told me he would "Knight" my little guy if I named him after the "King". As I held my little bundle of fluff, the "King" raised a huge sword and rested it on each side of Malachies' little head (I thought he was going to crush him!). And thus...he was "Knighted" Sir Malachie. I worked at home then creating web sites, and I remember spending hours just watching him. To watch his curiousity and his bravery...less than a pound and wanted to walk up and check out everything within reach...it was just all consuming. I couldn't take my eyes off him.
