Memories of Lucky
5-9-18: I thought it would get easier, but this year seems particularly hard. I really miss him so much. We love you Lucky.
5-9-17: Three years and it still hurts but at least Lucky isn't suffering anymore. We miss him so much.
5-9-15: Wow a whole year. We miss Lucky so much but I know he is not suffering anymore. The first few months were hard for all of us but soon we could laugh at the antics of Lucky and not be sad. For 10 years he melted the hearts of everyone who visited our home, even calming the fears of those who were terrified of dogs (ms. postal lady who used to throw my mail on the porch with a note, "the dog was going to break the door down" lol; she brought me flowers when Lucky passed. So on this anniversary of Lucky's passing, we celebrate him coming into our life! We love you and miss you Lucky!
5-14-14: We lost Lucky so suddenly and unexpectedly over Mother's Day weekend (May 9, 2014). He was the most unique fella we knew. He had his own personality and would turn you into a fan even if you proclaimed to not like dogs! What a character. For 10 years he was a joy to this family and everyone he encountered. He was spoiled, spoiled, spoiled --- but he made it easy to do. He was a finicky eater - what dog do you know that only likes lettuce with salad dressing on it,! Or stealthly and quietly steals Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and watches you go around the house looking for your sandwich! So many of you took his passing as hard as I, Brittni, and Oscar did, so we have created this residency at Rainbow Bridge for you to share your special memories of Lucky. He was one of a kind and there will never be another Lucky Wiles!! We love you Lucky!
5-16-14: It will be a week ago this evening that we shockingly lost Lucky. It has been a tough week without my 'office assistant' but creating this space for all to share their funny memories and thoughts about Lucky has been so helpful. Thank you everyone for your kind and comforting words and thoughts, and your funny memories of our Lucky!
5-23-14: It's two weeks later and we have lost another family friend, Ranger. Ranger belonged to my dad for the last 14 years. Although he was slow moving, you could always count on a tail wag from Ranger when you visited my dad's house in Atlanta, It was two weeks almost to the minute of losing Lucky, so it just made me relive the awful night of losing Lucky. I'm sure Ranger isn't moving slow any more, and now he will actually have a chance to meet Lucky after all these years. Lucky, we really miss you. Please take care of Ranger!
6-12-14: It is almost a month later and we missed Lucky so much! Every time I open the refrigerator I am looking for him to come around the corner because of that supersonic hearing and to stand waiting for some morsel of something to drop on the floor or be given to him. It is so quiet here now.
