Memories of Lexi
Our little guardian and skink chaser. You brought so much laughter and love into our lives. We will miss you begging for food, your barking to chase away anything/anyone that entered the yard and you stealing our socks. You took a big piece of our hearts with you the day you left us. The house is way too quiet. Izzy misses you too. We are glad that you are no longer in pain and will treasue our memories of you always. Until we meet again...
2/20/13. It has been a week since we said good bye. I don't think I have ever shed so many tears. Izzy still looks for you daily. Especially the spots where you had gotten sick the day before. It is early morning and the house is quiet. This is when I miss you the most. This was our time. It is also hard for me to get ready in the morning without you there. I still find myself placing my pajamas on the floor so that you will have something soft and warm to lay on. Last Friday I finally cleaned your little "nose prints" off the glass door. Guess who came to watch??? Yep, your nemesis that pesky squirrel. I'm sure he was wondering where the little guardian of the house had gone. The house is so quiet now. What I wouldn't give to hear that bark again. I know I sometimes got annoyed with you but I realize you were doing what you did best...protecting your family. Dad misses you terribly. You were his little "Lexi girl". He and Izzy are trying to bond but it will never be the bond that you two shared. We received a sympaty card from Dr Johnson. She assured us that we did the right thing by letting you go and easing your pain. I hope that you are running free and have made many new friends. Please know that you are always on our minds and in our hearts. My sweet girl....
