Memories of Lexa
Thank you for this angel, whose sweet, shy, loving spirit wrapped around my heart.
You were a 4 month old puppy when you entered our lives, and we loved you so...
Such a precious, gorgeous pup who was supposed to be a showdog - but got too big. So it was OUR gain, we got the most beautiful pup I ever saw. You didn't know what to make of doggie doors, and staying inside a house since you were just used to being on a dirt floor in the barn with your littermates. You seemed aloof and reserved, but with attention and love you opened up like a flower.
You brought so much joy into and enriched my life. You loved your yard here in the mountains and guarded it fiercely. That UPS guy didn't stand a chance with you! I never forgot about you chasing and catching that squirrel. You were so fast then. You were like a little queen when you sat at the top of the stairs and observed everything going on in your yard. I am so glad we moved from the desert and you got to live in the mountains, and had a big yard to run around in. You loved playing in the snow and all of the little creatures were so fascinating to you.

RIP my precious, gentle, and sweet Lexa. You meant so much to me and I miss you soooooooooooo much. Until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge.. Say "hi" to Dixie, Angel, and Lance for me.

I brought you home today. I thought I was fine emotionally but as I got to the front door of the vet's office, it hit me full force and I was overcome. I stopped and tried to compose myself before going in. Good thing I had my sunglasses on, but let's be honest here they didn't really hide anything. Thankfully, there was only one person in the waiting room and the receptionist recognized me and waved me over to her "I'll take care of you". As I got to her, she just looked at me compassionately and I lost it, barely able to say "I'm here to get Lexa". Lexa was wrapped in bubble wrap and she handed the package to me and I just wanted to get out of there with my precious cargo.
