Memories of Laddie
Laddie (Lad) came to live with John and Lisa in August 2016 after being rescued by his Angel Auntie Beth who picked him up off of the desert highway in scorching heat. He had been hit over the head and left for dead with a severe skull fracture but no other physical injuries. Lad had severe PTSD and was often afraid yet his immense courage eventually helped him to begin to trust again. He loved to run in and out the doggie door to scruff on the backyard lawn, kicking his hind legs like he was getting set for a 100 yard dash. He loved Elle his adopted sister even though she barely repaid his devoted affections. Although Lad was left with grand mal seizures for his whole life due to the horrific abuse he suffered, he would recover each time and return to savoring his favorite activities at his forever home. These are, in order of preference...eating, scruffing, following Elle, sleeping and positioning himself to get lengthy massages on his head and neck.

We will miss our little man and feel so blessed to have helped him have a life that we hope in small part atones for all that he endured prior to his rescue. Rest in peace, sweet Laddie, with no more seizures or trauma. May loving angels surround you and may you bark and run well at the Rainbow Bridge.
