Memories of JOJO
On November 22 while lying mapping'on my lap JoJo chose to start her trip to the rainbow bridge. She was with us for 19 years and nine months. We moved back to Arizona in September 2015, then about in 2021 I took her in to vet for her wellness checkup, and during that time our Dr. ordered certain bloodwork for her and when the results came back the doctor said it would appear that her blood work is showing the telltale signs of early kidney failure. So our Dr. drew up a plan of treatment for her to specifically address those findings, and treat her for phantom urinary tract infections.

It was decided that she would come in every month for a checkup of how she was doing so that if any changes showed up it would be caught early instead of a year down the road, and blood panels every three months, and her Mainstay diet would be special kidney food. About two months ago during her monthly checkup by the doctor
she noted some unusual weight loss from the last month and it appeared that she was also diabetic and was losing her hearing. So she was put on special medication for her diabetes which helped immensely. During her October doctor visit ,the doctor said I think she's beginning to get ready to leave,. But she is not suffering any at all,.I think she will just fade away one day while she's sleeping, and that was exactly when she decided it was time for her to go.

JOJO came into our family in 2005. Another couple living in a town about 12 miles away from our house and told us they had noticed on a regular basis a young black cat coming out of the woods into their backyard. So, so they decided to start putting food out for it in hopes of maybe catching it and call me to come rescue the cat. But whenever the cat saw any persons after the food was put out for it it would not come and eat. A friend of mine from Seattle Washington was down visiting us in Connecticut.

I got a call asking me to feed the cat cat while they were going on a trip ,and ask me to feed the cat every day. I said that my friend and I would come down each day twice a day and put food out for the cat The next day we decided after taking down the evening food to stay in the car quietly, and see if the cat would come and eat, which it did. After it had eaten it walked down the driveway and across the street, and under some Juniper bushes, and we watched it raking leaves as if it was trying to make a place to lay down to sleep.

The weather forecast was for snow that night, and we decided that we needed to make some kind of a shelter for the cat to get out of the snow. So we raced back to our house and I took a big thick cardboard box the snowblower had come in, and we sealed it all together with duct tape we lined the inside walls bottom and top with 2 inch foam that I had in the garage, and we cut a hole we thought would be big enough for the cat
to come in and out of, and we took a piece of fabric ,and made a curtain to go in and out. We put up some blankets inside and bowls for food and water. We raced back to the friend's house and put this shelter box on their open patio. We went down the next morning with its food .There was about a foot of snow on the ground and there were kitty tracks going into that shelter box, and after a few weeks they were able to get the cat to come inside the patio, and they were able to close the door so it wouldn't go back outside, and call me to come and rescue the cat'

I came down and picked up the cat', and took it to our vet to get checked out and treated so it could be with our other four babies. The doctor said it was a female and appeared to be about a year old in good condition., However there were telltale signs that she had been abused by someone. This couple had a daughter named JoAnn who was in the hospital, and seriously ill. So we decided to give this little girl the name Jojo, and she began her lifelong adventure wiyhd our family. She became the matriarch of the group teaching and correcting the other four the rules and regulations of her regime.

Most of all, Jojo was a critical part of our family. From the day I first brought her home until the last day she started her trip sleeping on my lap. The other four babies all seemed like they were looking for her every day since the day after she passed, especially our one and only boy who was the only survivor of a family of a mother cat and kittens, so he never really had a chance to learn from his mother, and we think that he thought JoJo was his mother. Eevery day he would nuzzle JoJo repeatedly. I could tell by his affect he still misses her today.

we hope hope that all furbaby folks live life even better by thier attention to the bond between cats and their familys. we really appreicate all the kind words for each of our babies at the bridge
Sincerely,
Bob Kathy SO MOTE IT BE
