SWEET. That's the word I use most often to describe you. The sweetest personality, sweetest little face, sweetest presence. You've been my constant companion, favorite little buddy, my soul cat. You and your brother Fred were a package deal, and it was the three of us. You two just didn't make sense without the other. You were my favorites. And then we lost Fred, and you and I foraged on together. You were my little partner in crime, with your unconditional love, affection that never ran out, and snuggles for days. Twenty years together. Twenty! Some of my fondest memories are when you'd hang out on my lap on my work-from-home days (best coworker ever), and you'd doze into a deep sleep, dreaming undoubtedly of the birds and squirrels you were chasing. Or maybe you were dreaming of all the mischief you and Fred were up to. And now, little one, now you and sweet Fred are reunited, together with your mama, and you're likely chasing butterflies together. You are the best gift I've ever been given, and I'll miss you, my little squash. We'll see each other again, though, and then again and again and forever. Thank you for a lifetime of wonderful.
