Welcome to Eclair's Rainbow Bridge Memorial Residency
Memories of Eclair
She came home as a pup and only got to spend wonderful years with us before she left. They were good years but hard on a first time dog owner. She was diagnosed with IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) before the age of 1 and started on life long medications. We tried to make everything as comfortable for the both of us as possible. We had our bouts of diarrhea-in-crate messes and unhappy tummy issues, but she was always a food driven girl, wanting more. She actually tore into her bags of food twice and gorged herself; only to find her "food" bloated, me freaking out, and her content with a very-very large tummy. Her IBD turned into a sudden and aggressive lymophoma sacroma at the end of Feb 2017. Small intestine surgery was performed prior to the cancer diagnosis, due to a leaky/damaged intestine which was causing a 106 fever. Pathology reports on the intestine confirmed the cancer which had caused the intestinal damage. And thus the IBD to cancer. We started chemo, but it didn't work out. She left us Saturday night, March 11th 10:45pm-ish while we were rushing to the ER again. I'm constantly reminded of her in the common places at home: next to my bed, lying down watching me in the restroom, behind my desk chair, sitting at my elbow at the dinner table encouraging me with those eyes and grin to feed her yet another snack.
