Memories of Desi
Our sweet kitty cat, Desi, (Flamepoint Himalayan) we miss dearly. Last vet visit with him was April 13, 2017 when we had hopes there was another issue causing him to be so ill, rather than the advance of kidney disease that began two years earlier from years of steroid shots to control allergies. Never thought this vet visit would end as it did. Desi was a cuddler at night, pushing his face into my husband's beard to snuggle which he did every night from when he was a kitten. Desi's fur was like silk, so very soft and thick. Whenever I'd call, "Kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty, kitty!", he was the first to come and quickly. His sister Luci wasn't as quick as he, but she eventually came into the room. My husband and I do not have "human" children; others like us know how important and special that makes our fur children. We've lost other fur babies over the years, however, losing Desi seems to be the most difficult. It doesn't get any easier the older we get, that's for sure.

Thank you to our dear friends, Susan and Tom, for their contribution to create this memorial to Desi. And thank you to all of you who have written such kind words in response. We have Desi's sister Luci to continue to love and care for and she's no doubt feeling Desi's loss as well. She's been sleeping in the carrier on the blanket Desi was on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Time heals ...
