Memories of The Conner Kids

This site is our personal home away from home, we tell our father what we like and want for this location, and he had better meet our demands, or he'll pay big time.

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written sometime between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown.

The theme is of a mythological place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner. It has gained wide popularity amongst animal lovers who have lost a pet.

Although no major religion specifically refers to such a place for pets, the belief shows similarities with the Bifrost bridge of Norse mythology.
Most of the existing records on Norse mythology date from the 11th to 18th century, having gone through more than two centuries of oral preservation in what was at least officially a Pagan society.

There are several worlds connected by Yggdrasil, the world tree, with Asgard at its top. Chewing at its roots in Niflheim is Nidhogg, a ferocious serpent or dragon. Asgard can be reached by Bifrost, a rainbow bridge guarded by Heimdall, a god who can see and hear for a hundred leagues. It is said that the Norseman sent their favorite animals when old or killed in battle. We have seen the Hollywood versions of the animals on boats set afire as they drift out onto a lake and then sink.

Thus, today we have our modern play that our pets become whole once again to enjoy an earlier time for ever and where we will join them when it's our time.

Our girls are now waiting for us at:

Miss Laci Nicole Conner [GP. TNT Purrfect Lavender 'N Lace] Her registered name.

She finally settled down from being the daughter from hell ... Now Karen's favorite next to Dollie Ann, Lacey was always there for her mom.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then came this little lover ...
Miss Cadee Caitlin Conner [Richelieu Morning Glory] Her registered name.
(2 months old, approx. 3.7 lb.) Born March 24, 2013 - Laid to Rest 03/02/2021 3:26 PM MDT
She was in trouble with sister Laci and brother Gabbey all the time...
After losing Chloe due to her health conditions on August 17, 2012, we found we missed the sound of little feet running through our home. Karen always watches the Westminster Kennel Club show each year, always dreaming of having a puppy that was related to a champion show dog from this event. We're in trouble after seeing this little baby's picture .........
She was a lover in her actions, personality and her behavior like her Aunt Chloe, she was always there for us -the love of Karen's life like her other relations that have moved on. "She never bit me".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mr. Gabbey Arnold Conner [NOT THAT WILD CAT WE KNEW] No registered name.
(2 years old, approx. 4.8 lb. -- 9 years old 17 lbs.) Born March 10, 2013

Now lost looking for his sister ... He's pretty much stays out of trouble most of the time...
After losing Cadee due to her health conditions Gabbey is always looking for her then finally gives up and lays on the bed and finally falls asleep.

He's a lover in his actions, and with his behavior he's always here for us - loves to sit on Karen's lap.

"He has only bit me once"...

Times like mentioned will always be with us and probably making it hard to let go. We both agree with Will Rogers "if dogs don't go to heaven then when I die I want to go with the dogs".

Amen

God Bless the Conner Kids and please wait for me I'll follow shortly.

We love you.

Friends Forever.

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead. He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight. When he was standing before it, he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold.

He and his dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side. When he was close enough, he called out, 'Excuse me, where are we?'

'This is Heaven, sir,' the man answered.

'Wow! Would you happen to have some water?' the man asked.

'Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up.'

The man gestured, and the gate began to open.

'Can my friend,' gesturing toward his dog, 'come in, too?' the traveler asked.

'I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets.'

The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog. After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence.

As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book....

'Excuse me!' he called to the man. 'Do you have any water?'

'Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in.'

'How about my friend here?' the traveler gestured to his dog.

'There should be a bowl by the pump,' said the man.

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it.. The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.

When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree. 'What do you call this place?' the traveler asked.

'This is Heaven,' he answered.

'Well, that's confusing,' the traveler said. 'The man down the road said that was Heaven, too.'

'Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell.'

'Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?'

'No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind.'

AMEN
