Memories of Carter Waldorf Sloan
Carter was a special boy to all who knew him. He loved to eat and would steal food out of your hand while you were eating it. He loved sleeping in the sun. He was a very sweet boy who will be missed forever.

Carter was diagnosed with Congestive heart failure in October 2016. We had heard a murmur for awhile but he had no symptoms and he had none until March 2017. He had several visits to the emergency vet and his regular vet until he was placed on a good regimen of medications. Carter loved taking his medications with turkey. The last night of his sweet life, he was up all night coughing and couldn't catch his breath. I had planned to take him to the vet in the morning but when his emergency lasix given as a shot wasn't helping him, I knew something was happening. He looked at me like he knew this was it. He went to the bathroom finally but collapsed on the floor. I rushed him and our toddler to the vet's office right when they opened at 7:30. I didn't have an appointment but I told them what was going on and they took me to a room. I knew he needed to rest. He wasn't happy and was uncomfortable. When he took his last breath, I think he was relieved. He was the most special boy to me.

I will never know that kind of love again.
