Memories of Bear
For almost 10 years, you were always there for me, with never a complaint. The sweetest disposition anyone could ever want in a dog made you the most popular dog in every neighborhood we lived in. You put up with new homes every couple years, roommates, other pets, and finally, for the last 3 years, an insta-family, and never complained or got upset. Despite how much you liked the new family, you always would seek me out. You would stay up late watching TV with me. You would get up in the morning with the family and have breakfast, then come back and sleep until I got up for the day. We just thought it was your arthritis bothering you as you went to the vet as I left for a business trip. By the next morning, it was said you needed emergency surgery for a mass on the spleen..... I sent you immediately to the specialist and walked out of my seminar to come home. During surgery, they found it had damaged you too much, and you passed away as I was in flight. I never got to say goodbye. I'm so sorry. You were my best friend. The Vet said you should have been mean and snapped at us because of how much pain you must have been in. You never showed it. You were too kind. You will be sorely missed.
