Memories of Bizhiw
We would like to honor the life of our beloved Mishi Bizhiw (great lynx) or aka the flyer. As the saying goes - who rescued who? Bizhiw came into our lives to change our lives and left a paw print on our hearts. We love Bizhiw and she was truly an angel girl.

From the beginning to the end, she was always offering her healing and support. I told her every day that she was changing my life. She certainly made her impact. A best friend, confidant, companion, nurse, and healer.

Some special memories include getting lost once in the neighborhood for 3 hours. She came home exhausted but never ran away again. Another memory is after using the bathroom she would peel out and run throughout the house and sometimes sliding on the bamboo floors. Bizhiw was a flyer and would land perfectly like the best gymnast in the world when she jumped onto furniture or your lap. She would cuddle with me as she slept and always soothed my heart. She loved the sunshine, biodegradable gold glitter, head bumps, salmon, tuna, and the backyard.

My best friend and real live angel -- she will be missed greatly!

Bizhiw showed her strength, resilience, and warrior side often, even all the way until returning home. After a long battle with kidney and heart disease, Bizhiw left her physical body on Thursday, April 13, 2023. She now rests in her home in the Manistee National Forest where she can spend time with her lynx family and other friends.
