We had the privilege of caring for and loving this little bundle of joy for almost 12 years. We first met on August 1, 2014, and we took her home with us on August 31, 2014. I said Zoe was my best dog ever, and to that point, she was. BUT Bella is actually the most wonderful. We adored her and she adored us. We were FAMILY. We lost her today, June 1, 2026, and we are numb, but we will never forget her and will treasure our many memories of this extremely special 4 lb. pooch. We are grateful to have been her caretakers for the bulk of her life. She loved her stuffed toys - moving them around, arranging them carefully. She especially loved her Santa Bear, first toy and forever toy. Santa Bear aged as Bella aged. He lost his voice (squeak), but she still loved him and would find him and bring him to her bed, or her chair. He was her constant companion and sleeping buddy. She loved her walks and smelling everything along the way...chasing lizards, barking at strangers. In our home in Winter Springs she stood guard on her chair in the front room, watching what was going on in her street. Bella was super smart so we had to be careful what we said. We are going to miss her.....but we've been missing the Bella we knew as we watched her grow more and more lame and unable to keep her front legs in their sockets! Painful time. |
