Welcome to Athena's Rainbow Bridge Memorial Residency
Memories of Athena
Sweet, Beautiful Athena. What a hard decision I had to make. Upon arrival to the vet I knew you were ready, so relaxed and so peaceful. I hope you always remember how I tried to make your last moments special. Our ride to McDonalds and that Vanilla Ice Cream, Chelsi and I fed you! You had so many beautiful puppies. I hope Willow lives as long or longer than you and you live on through her. I am so glad I kept her out of that last litter. Ill never forget the time you and Nakita jumped the fence and got over on the bad side of Rockford. Thank God for nametags. I was scared when I got the call at 2AM someone had the 2 of you. The police escorted me to the place you were because I didnt feel safe. The officers laughed at the 2 of you. Those railroad tracks must have been quite an adventure.Your puppies, the time people were picking pups at 2 wks of age. I put you outside because I knew you werent going to allow, they were just looking at that point. The neighbor Kathy rang the doorbell. She said you had opened the gate and walked to the front porch 4xs. She kept putting you in the backyard. I laughed and said someone is here looking at her puppies and she isnt going to let them leave with one, lol. You were a good mama. Always your nickname "Mama". Hope you found little departed Denali too. You were such a wonderful girl, so nice and pretty obediant for a husky. You followed me everywhere I went and slept with me until old age when you couldnt jump on the bed anymore. I always considered you my sidekick. THe supervisor was another nickname. Yes,, watch me fold every article of clothing during laundry time to make sure I was doing things right. As a young pup you got on the counter and ate my poke cake that was cooling for added jello. Oh,, I remember the box of lemon girl scout cookies you stole too, while counter cruising. You did those things when you were young, you really were a good girl. Everyone who met you loved you to pieces because you were always so nice and gentle. You could be quite the athlete in your younger years, I remember watching you hurdle the chain link fence like there was no tomorrow and so fast it would make my head spin. Your scooby doo talk was the cutest! I loved it. Your last year and vet visits constantly. I'll never forget the time I was talking to you about the vet, you understood, and nodded your head back and forth and literally said "no". I know...you had enough!I wish I could have caught that on video. I swear I grieved your unwellness for a year. I cried for a week straight before I sent you off to Rainbow. I hope your feeling young and healthy again and always watching over us. You know, Whisper and Willow miss you! I got a new puppy, her name is "Winter" she is pure white like your mom and grandmom. I found her by looking at your AKC papers, it led me to the website to find her. I hope you and Nakita will always watch over this special pup too. I love you so much, Athena and so did everyone. I hope you will always remember the special care I took of you, your last year and did everything I could to try to make you well. I hope you walk again and are free from infection and cancer. I hope you enjoy your food again and can run and jump and wrestle around with Nakita Bita. The house feels so different without your presence and the back yard too. I was just watching a video of you in the backyard last summer with tears. It hurts not to have you anymore, but at the same time, Im so glad you are not suffering. Go play and run free, have a fabulous wonderful life on the other side. I will see you when we meet again, my sweet girl. Love you forever and always, you left a huge pawprint on my heart!
