Memories of AnnaBella O'Curry's Mist
AnnaBella was the only girl in a litter of four (4) West Highland White Terriers 'hand' whelped by my (deceased) wife and I in 2006. From the beginning of her life she was a special and vocal little girl. She had such spunk, curiousity and vigor.

Annie never, ever had a mean moment in her life. She loved everyone equally. She went everywhere with us and had many Westie and other friends. She lived a full and complete life in three (3) different houses: one on Bainbridge Island, WA, one in La Quinta, CA and her final home on Whidbey Island, WA.

Throughout her life she loved and cherished her other canine companions; including her Momma, Daisy, and her Uncle Eddie. In the last year of her life she developed three (3) special new friends -- all Cavalier King Charles spaniels: Buster (passed 3/21/2023), Cooper and Duncan (both puppies).

Annie was loyal, faithful and a true comfort. When I lost my wife in 2021, Annie was right there to comfort me. She slept with me, either on or by my pillow, each night. She loved to be close and to comfort. She never, ever made a demand of me; other than breakfast and dinner! She loved her food and treats.

Annie traveled extensively throughout the Western United States and Canada. She was a good water dog; climber and explorer. She had many, many long journeys with us riding from southern California to Vancouver, British Columbia. She was a great traveler and only asked to be with her Momma, Daisy, on the long trips.

I look forward to seeing you at the Rainbow Bridge my little Love.

There is a hole in my heart where you were -- now and forever.

Epilogue:

I have been blessed with many loving friends, of which Annie was most special. Recently, one long-time friend reminded me of Rudyard Kipling's Poem "Four Feet." Annie's little sonic presence will always be with me.

"Four Feet"
-- Rudyard Kipling --

I have done mostly what most men do,
And pushed it out of my mind;
But I can't forget, if I wanted to,
Four-Feet trotting behind.

Day after day, the whole day through --
Wherever my road inclined --
Four-feet said, "I am coming with you!"
And trotted along behind.

Now I must go by some other round, --
Which I shall never find --
Somewhere that does not carry the sound
Of Four-Feet trotting behind.

Walk on, Annie...
