I came across Gertie's residence because I noticed that we share the same day that our furangels left us for the Bridge, February 2nd, Groundhog Day. Your little angel was truly precious and I am very sorry for your loss. May all the loving memories of Gertie live in your heart forever. Marion (Chewbacca's Mom)

"God gave us our memories so that we might have Roses in December." a quote by J.M. Barrie. May the memories of your blessed furangel Gertie, the ones that can't help but bring a smile to your face and a chuckle to your heart as you remember how your baby’s paw prints touched your life, be the ones that surround you this Holiday Season. My prayer for all of us this Christmas season, is that each of our babies wrap up a special little sign for each one of us back here, and send it to us during this blessed season. May you catch a glimpse of your special sign, just when your heart needs it the most....And may each love-filled memory you have of your beloved fur-angel bring to your heart the very warmth and sunshine of the Rainbow itself. That's just one "gift" your baby-angel would want for you this year...Best wishes for you and your family this Holiday Season, Karen (Dusty, DJ & Patches mom) http://RainbowsBridge.com/residents/DUSTY101/Resident.htm

My deepest sympathies to you on your loss. I do know what it is like to lose a loved one, whether Human or one of our special, furry babies. Having lost quite a few of my own and doing dog rescue, it is never easy. From my house of 6 furr babies, to yours, we wish you the best. If you ever need to write please do so. I will be there for you. They never leave us, we just don't see them any more. Their spirit lives on.

It hurts so much when they leave us, but I think the pain is worth having had them in our lives. I hope the memories you have of your time together help to ease your pain of your loss.

Dear Dan & Allison, Your precious Gertie went across the Rainbow Bridge the same day as my Bubba Lou. I know your grief is deep, mine is. I have visited Gertie's residence and it is a beautiful tribute to your sweet baby. I wish you peace and comfort in the days and weeks ahead. Please know that you will be reunited with sweet Gertie someday. In the meantime, she is playing happily in the sunshine of Heaven with my Inky and Bubba Lou. Take care and God bless you, Jane

Dan and Allison, I am so very sorry for the loss of your wonderful Gertie. I know the pain you are feeling as I just lost one of my best friends and companions of 16 years, Willy, on January 4, 2011. It hurts so very badly, and I know my tears are still flowing. I know though, that Gertie and Willy are probably playing in the meadows running and jumping now. I know Willy loved the sunshine and I hope that Gertie does too. I truly believe that God would not have made a Heaven without our beloved companions there to meet us. I have left an extra angel to look over Gertie, as she is your angel watching over you. I hope that your pain begins to turn to peace that fills your heart with nothing but wonderful memories. God Bless You until we all meet again. I would love for you to visit Willy at http://.rainbowsbridge.com/residents/WILLY010/ResidentHTM

Gertie - You have been a wonderful member of your family and you have left them many endearing memories. Send them some signs, kisses from the Rainbow to let them know that you are safe, happy, healthy and will have many friends. Let Dan and Allison know that God has appointed you to be their guardian, protector to watch over them until they are called to the Bridge to join you one day. I will tell my Brande to find you and play with you. To Dan and Allison - I send my deepest regrets to you over the loss of Gertie. I too lost my soulmate not long ago, see Brande at http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/BRAND167/Resident.htm - We know that God has promised we will be with our babies again one day. I leave this quote with you, "heaven is the only place where all the dogs and cats you have ever loved will come running to meet you." Author Unknown

Hello Dan & Allison, I am so sorry for the lost of your beautiful Gertie. King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes: "To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven…a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance…" The Zohar, the classic work of Kabbalah, describes the inner psyche of man as "crying being on one side of the heart and laughing on the other side of the heart." Yet, there is an even deeper understanding, in time we will learn to be joyous and broken hearted at the same time. Our fur babies where so beautiful and a gift of true joy & love, how can we not be happy when we reflect on there memory and begin to celebrate there life. I lost my Zander July 2008; please take comfort in knowing that we will one day be together again with our beautiful companions; I have attached Zander's link if you care to visit. With Love & Sympathy Diane. http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/ZANDE003/Resident.htm

Hi I am so sorry to hear about your loved one, and when they become ill it does happen suddenly. I am happy that you were there for her and she did not go alone. Yes I find this site very comforting and I totally understand the hurt losing a pet, they are like our children nothing hurts more then to lose a pet that we have bonded with. Now your fur baby can find JR/Teddy Bear as well as the rest and play together with no suffering. We all need to know that we were there for our little fur babies, and gave them the love back as you know animals have unconditional love. Our fur babies were blessed to have us as their owners, look at all the animals in society today, being abused and having no shelter it makes me want to cry more. We all need to feel blessed having our fur babies and able to give them a loving home. As you probably know, they would do anything to please us because they love us unconditionally. Gertie and JR will meet up together.

Dan and Allison, so sorry for your loss. Saying goodbye is never easy.....those little furry companions definitely steal our hearts and souls. They are so precious and are truly one of God's greatest gifts. Take comfort in that their love for us goes on as our love for them does for eternity. I am sure that the memories of this precious member will be with you always. We also lost our adorable little pug, Nikki Mae, who was the light of our lives for more than 14 wonderful years. We are sure that beautiful Gertie and Nikki Mae have become good friends and are now having so much fun playing and running again. Please visit our Nikki Mae at: http://RainbowsBridge.com/residents/NIKKI115/Resident.htm

Dear Dan & Allison, I am so sorry that your Gertie has passed on. But I take encouragement in the thought that our furbabies are running & playing in such a beautiful place as they wait to be reunited with us some day. I know how much you miss her, just as we miss our Buddy Cat. I have asked Buddy to look around and find Gertie and I know that they will be good friends. I am sure Buddy will give her noise kisses to let your angel know how happy he is to have her for a friend. Our hearts go out to you with deepest sympathy for your loss. At least our furbabies are out of pain as we try to deal with our own emptiness now that they are gone. May the God watch over them, and help us who grieve their passing. May he also give us strength and courage during this most difficult time. I would love if you would visit our Buddy Cat. http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/BUDDY370/Resident.htm

Dear Dan & Allison, Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of your Gertie. I love that face. The story you tell is sad at times but is reflective of the love you had for her. It takes much courage to be there as they breathe their last. Please visit my dog Chandler. His former home is Berlin, MD. He passed away a few weeks ago. He was almost 15. It does get easier but I think of him often and wish I could see him one more time. You will always have your memories and that will keep Gertie alive in your heart. God bless you at this most difficult time.
