My condolences. Our pug, Barney, has been gone 14 years and we still look for him in his favorite places in the house. Maybe a poem I found that helped me through Barney and my 2 beagles will help you: OLD FRIENDS Their youthful years have slipped away, The old man and his dog. They have a special bonding That needs no dialogue. The chase is just a memory. But how they used to run When hearts and legs were stronger And games were such great fun. Now the pace is slower For the master and his mate. If one lags too far behind The other stops to wait. Some things we cannot change Like aging and the weather, But true friends are quite content Just to grow old together. C. David Hay

I am so sorry for the loss of your Buckwheat. I know how you feel... I understand the void you talk about as my Cody died on March 27th - he was 12 and it is still hard to believe he is gone. I hope he is resting peacefully with Buckwheat as they wait for us to meet again! Luke 12:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. This verse directly speaks to God's love for His creation, even the small and inexpensive birds sold for pennies in the ancient markets. God cares about the suffering and life of every animal in his creation, and loves also the pet's owner. God remembers each moment of a pet's life, and delights in the beauty of each part of his created world, no matter how small. This is one of the most comforting Bible verses when a pet dies. I lit a memorial candle for Buckwheat on my page https://www.facebook.com/FurgetMeNotPetMemorials?ref=hl take care and God Bless

Donna, thank you for sharing your memorial with us. Buckwheat was such a special little guy. For so many years we've watched our mail awaiting the infamous Buckwheat Christmas Card. We always enjoyed his sweet little pug face and other clients always commented on how cute he was. While you were lucky to have him in your life, he was so lucky to have owners that adored him, all pets should be that lucky! Thinking of you during this sad time.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I lost Cooper, my Yellow Lab, awhile back. Please know that you're not going through this alone and you will be with your furbaby again. They are not gone, just waiting for us in a better place. The Good Lord would not give us these treasures for such a short time only to take them away forever. Take care, Kim

Hello Donna & Wally, I am so sorry for the lost of your beautiful Buckwheat. King Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes: "To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven…a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance…" The Zohar, the classic work of Kabbalah, describes the inner psyche of man as "crying being on one side of the heart and laughing on the other side of the heart." Yet, there is an even deeper understanding, we will learn to be joyous and broken hearted at the same time. Our fur babies where so beautiful and a gift of true joy & love, how can we not be happy when we reflect on their memory and begin to celebrate their life. One day we will be together again with our beautiful companions; I lost my Zander & Zianna & have attached their link if you care to visit. With Love & Sympathy Diane. http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/ZANDE003/Resident.htm http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/ZIANN001/Resident.htm

I am so sorry you lost your sweet baby Buckwheat. I looked at the pictures you shared and fell in love with him too! My heart is truly breaking for you. I have many babies at the bridge and I think of them often and miss them dearly. I know people say that time will heal but its really what you do with time. Buckwheat is in the arms of God now and he is being loved and cared for by Him. That is one of the thoughts that saves me. He is also making lots of friends and exploring Gods beautiful paradise with curiosity and excitement. He is never in pain nor will he experience sadness. But the love he has for you is just as strong as ever and it will go on forever. Thats the amazing thing about love! You will see your baby again and you will never have to part. That is Gods promise to you. I know how painful it is, so please dont go through this alone. Please take care and many blessings.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of Buckwheat. Please find comfort in knowing that Buckwheat is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. On January 11, 2013, I lost my faithful friend Hannah who was a beautiful blue tick hound dog. On August 2, 2013 another one of my beautiful cats, Sammi, a black and white tabby, went to Rainbows Bridge. April 9, 2014, Maci, my English Bulldog passed over to Rainbows Bridge. Maci and Hannah were best friends. I am sure that Buckwheat and my babies have all become good friends. You can visit with Spooky at: http://www.rainbowsbridge.com/residents/Spook002/resident.HTM Take Care, Susan

Dear Donna and Wally I'm sorry for the loss of your Buckwheat. What a handsome guy. I lost my Finnbar December 2012.I understand how hard it is to say goodbye and I know how crippling the grief can be.When its time you'll be together again just as it should be.Until then Buckwheat is waiting for you at the bridge happy and healthy. There are new places to explore so much space to run like the wind all the good treats and when he needs a break, meadows to lie in the sun. He's having a ball with his new friends all the while still keeping an eye on you.I hope he's met Finn by now. He's a friendly little cat but he's scrappy and he can catch. If you would care to visit my Finnbar http://Rainbowsbridge.com/residents/Finnb001/Resident.htm

Donna & Wally I am sorry for you loss of Buckwheat. My Perseus went to RB when he was 14. There are now as they were in their youth. No more worries or pain. No more rain only sunshine. Running and playing all day with the other furbabies. One day we will join them at Rainbow Bridge. . Toni

Dear Donna and Wally - I am so sorry for your loss of Buckwheat. My heart goes out to you as I know you are struggling so with the loss of your precious baby. Your world has lost a very special baby, family member and friend, but the heavens have welcomed home a very special soul. Earth’s loss is heaven’s gain. I know you had a special relationship with Buckwheat that will always be a part of you. I pray that my sweet little girl, Bailey, found Buckwheat and they have become friends. May the precious love you shared with Buckwheat continue to warm your heart and I hope you find peace and comfort knowing that your love will bind you together forever. Peace and blessings to you. Dear Buckwheat, you are truly handsome! Please go to the Bridge and send your precious love down the Rainbow straight into the hearts of your mommy and daddy who miss you so much, and they will send their love right back to you on angels' wings. Dear Donna and Wally, your world has lost a very special furperson, family member and friend, and heaven has welcomed Home a very special soul. Buckwheat is now your very own angel, watching over and for you, just as Tashi, Katy and BG are watching over us, until you meet again and cross the Bridge together. May his sweet love continually nuzzle your hearts until then, and may you find comfort in knowing that the silver thread of love that binds you heart to heart with Buckwheat will never be broken. Many blessings and much peace, Clare and Martha...Please visit our Tashi at http://www.rainbowsbridge.com/residents/TASHI002/resident.HTM

For sweet Buckwheat, I know that during your lifetime you gave Donna & Wally much joy. Now I am wishing for you lots and lots of happiness at Rainbows Bridge. From looking at your photo and reading what your family wrote for and about you it is obvious that you came from a very warm and loving home. Buckwheat I have a wonderful playmate for you. His name is Pedro and he is adorable just like you. I know you two will be very good friends. For Donna & Wally, I just visited Buckwheat's Rainbows Bridge residency and wanted to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. I am sure if asked, Buckwheat would have said that every day spent with you was a blessing. Having lost my little boy Pedro I can understand how you must be feeling and how much you must miss Buckwheat. Wishing you both all the very best always, Rosalind (Pedro's Mom)
