Hi Basil, It's mommy. I can't believe it has been seven years since you left us. I remember that Thanksgiving morning so well. I know you are in doggy heaven being bold as usual! We wouldn't want to remember you any other way! Tessa, Riley and Chili are keeping us very busy. We love and miss you always.

Oh Maddie, I am such a novice when it comes to thared! I appreciate any advice you can give on it. I use a poly-cotton blend because a teacher in a class recommended it... otherwise I'm completely in the dark. PS. You are the best twitter friend & everyone should follow you!! :) :) :)-- Kristina, aka @nerdysewist

I am so sorry to hear about your recent loss of Basil. Please find comfort in knowing that Basil is now at Rainbows Bridge and making lots of friends. Saying goodbye is never easy. I also lost my precious cat Spooky July 30th 2001 after 16 wonderful years with her. I am sure that Basil and Spooky have become good friends. You can visit with Spooky at: Take Care, Susan

"God gave us our memories so that we might have Roses in December." a quote by J.M. Barrie. May the memories of your blessed furangel Basil, the ones that can't help but bring a smile to your face and a chuckle to your heart as you remember the way your baby's tender love touched your life, be the ones that surround you this Holiday Season. My prayer for each of us this Christmas season, is that each of our babies wrap up a special little sign for each one of us back here, and send it to us this special season. May you catch a glimpse of your special sign, just when your heart needs it most.... And may each love-filled memory you have of your beloved furbaby bring to your heart the very warmth and sunshine of the Rainbow itself. That's just one "gift" your fur-angel would want for you this year ... With best wishes for you and your family this Holiday Season, Karen (Dusty & DJ's mom)

Dear Lori, my heart goes out to you for the loss of Basil. Isn't it incredible how an animal can change our lives so completely? Please know that the heartache will soon be filled with loving memories of your sweet baby Basil. I have recently lost my pug Coco. Please visit her residency if you feel up to it. God Bless you Robin

Dear Lori, I have just visited Basil at RainbowsBridge. What a nice story and wonderful pictures. My heart goes out to you and your family. I know how hard it is. They do become our children. I am sure Basil is feeling well and happily playing with her new friends.

Bay, you are one silly boy I will truly miss. I will not miss you eating my jeans in the wrong spot, barking in my ear all hours of the day and night when I would babysit. Jake will really miss you. You tried so hard to keep up with him but you outsmarted him many times. We love you Basil!

Lori, I am so sad for you that Basil is gone. But, gone to a pain free place where he can run and bark all he wants! Please have him say Hi to "Bandit" for us when their paths cross! Biddy Hahl

Basil, What a precious baby you were, always so loyal and loving. You taught and gave your mommy so much that she now knows the true meaning of unconditional love. She longs for the day to be able to hold you and to look into your eyes again. I know just how grateful you are for all of love and care in which she provided you. She misses you baby, so very much. I know that you don't want her to be sad for too long, but instead, be happy. For you are happy, content at peace and have been surrounded by so many others who also love and adore you, including my Shayna Girl and Leche. I extend my deepest condolences to you for the loss of Basil. I know just how painful it is to have lost your angel, for, I too, lost mine. Please vist my Shayna Girl at: and Leche at My thoughts and prayers are with you. Until we are with our babies again. Shayna and Leche's mommy, Lisa

Your fur baby made such an impact on your life, I understand how much you miss your baby. You miss them so much when they go to the bridge, it can be so painful. The bridge is a wonderful place, full of wonderful friends, no pain, and wonderful places to run and feel great. I am sure your baby is so greatfull for all the love and kindness you showed him, and he misses giving you his unconditional love. Someday I promise you will be reunited at the bridge. Basil, we will miss you. We hope you are resting peacefully in doggie heaven. Mommy and Daddy miss you a lot and Lexi sure has some big shoes to fill. Hopefully she will catch up and learn to clean the dishes as good as you did. We will miss your crazy barking and your wild dreadlocks when you swim in the pool. Keep guarding the house from where you are and know that we miss you.

Oh Lori when I opened up your baby's residency it took my breath away. I have an Australian Shepard/Blue Heeler mix rescue that looks so much like your Basil. I certainly know how your heart is broken when you have loved these type of dogs your life is forever touched with their love and devotion and their garbage eating LOL. I send to you prayers of healing and comfort in the knowing that your baby is now restored to perfect health and youth in heaven always.

Basil, you are so handsome! Please go to the Bridge and send your precious love down the Rainbow straight into the heart of your mommy who misses you so much, and she will send her love right back to you on angels' wings. Lori, your world has lost a very special furperson, and heaven has gained a very special soul. Basil is now your very own angel, watching over and for you, just as BG is watching over us, until you meet again and cross the Bridge together. May his sweet love continually hug your heart until then. Clare & Martha....Please visit BG at

To precious Basil, a new fur-angel at the Rainbow... I can just see you now with your feather-soft angel wings, watching over your family back here. And I just know by now you've had a chance to look around for the coziest & softest places to take your sunshine filled Rainbow-colored doggy naps, haven't you... And each time you look up and see that wondrously magical Rainbow, may you know that all those who loved you back here have actually helped make it shine a little brighter. How? With their tears, sweet baby. Each love-drop filled tear here has mixed with the sunshine there at your new home, and your Rainbow shines even brighter for you now..... An old Indian proverb: "The Soul would have no Rainbow if the Eyes had No Tears" says it best... You now find rest in the Arms of God's very own Angels...what more could Lori have ever wished for you? What more could have ever been wished...

Basil - What a pretty one you are with those superb markings and designs that God gave you! Send your family some signs, kisses from the Rainbow to let them know that you are safe, happy, healthy and will have many friends. Let Lori know that God has appointed you to be her guardian, protector to watch over her until she is called to the Bridge to join you one day. I will tell my Brande to find you and play with you. To Lori - I send my sincere sympathy to you over the loss of Basil. I too lost my soulmate not long ago, see Brande - We know that God has promised we will be with our babies again one day. I leave this quote with you, "heaven is the only place where all the dogs and cats you have ever loved will come running to meet you." Author Unknown
