The new library looks great, but one thing is minsisg . the convenient parking we have at the current location. The nearest parking is across the street in the Wayne Avenue Garage. So far the County Council has refused to amend the urban renewal plan to allow a bridge between the garage and the library. That means most of those million library patrons each year will have to walk half a block to the corner from the garage, try to get across Wayne Avenue (which will soon have Purple Line trains every 3 minutes as well as all the current traffic), and then walk a half block back to the library entrance. That may not be so bad in the abstract, but try it with a bag of books with small children or when it is raining or snowy. And by the way, the bridge is the cheapest way for the the library to meet ADA handicapped accessibility requirements. The County Council needs to approve building the library bridge!

It doesn't matter how long we had them with us or how long they've been gone - a piece of our heart is missing until we're reunited.
From: Pressy's Family

Hello, handsome Aspen. We're sorry we've not visited sooner but we didn't know about you. Our Pressy, the little old gray lady kitty who helped you welcome Trooper to Paradise meadow, told us about you. She asked her family to visit her sweet doggie playmate Aspen. Pressy told us she chases sunbeams and rainbows with you and gives you special kitty love headbumps. She said you are showing Trooper wonders of Paradise meadow and helping Pressy teach him to send love signs on the wind to Dad...Pressy said you sent Dad a love sign to tell him Trooper is in Paradise meadow with you. Dad will be happy his furangels are together watching over him waiting until he comes to cross beautiful Rainbow Bridge together for all time. Join with Trooper to watch over Dad as guardian stars shining brightly for him so he feels the warmth of your love surround him and knows you are with him. Soar among clouds with Trooper on silvery angel wings to watch over Dad together always, beloved Aspen. Grandpa

Aspen, we know that you welcomed Trooper home with you and that both of your are watching over your dad with all the love in your hearts. Robert, the silver thread of love that binds you heart to heart with both Aspen and Trooper will never be broken. They will be at the Bridge one day in God's time to take you home with them forever. May your find comfort in knowing how very much Aspen loves you. Blessings & peace, Clare & Martha

To Aspen's Dad; I read your beautiful story about Aspen and my husband and I know every one of those sentences and we're afraid the pain will stay such a long time. For you it is as I can see. We lost our Golden baby on September 3rd and I'm not sure my husband will recover the loss any time soon, we loved Sammie so much and he was my husband's best friend. We have Niki, another Golden who fell in love with Sammie when we brought her home, she definitely has not recovered yet. I will pray that Aspen and Sammie send down a sign to let us all know they are enjoying their renewed health and frolicking with their toys in a meadow, hillside or lake. Much peace in your heart- Janelle

I know it's been a while since the passing of your boy Aspen. I just lost my Heidi. My heart breaks for her. A similar situation. I think God looks into our hearts the way we love his greates gifts, his fur babbies. They are only loaned to us for a short time. I, as you, were so blessed to have such a gift! Peace, Gary

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened" -Anatole France - I have found such profound truth in that statement.... I believe in my heart, that is why we never forget the joy, the love, the very presence of our babies even after they've gone. You see, the part of us they've awoken simply never again falls asleep inside us! Instead, the cherished memories of their love, their very "presence" in our lives, keeps their flame eternally glowing in our hearts, no matter how little...or how long of a time has gone by since they've left our side.... May Aspen's flame continue to burn brightly and shine eternally in your heart, Robert ... With wishes of the warmest and happiest of Holiday seasons this year to your entire family.......... from, Karen (Dusty's mommy)....... http://RainbowsBridge.com/residents/DUSTY101/Resident.htm

Hello precious Aspen. I hope you are having so much fun up at the Rainbow Bridge! No more pain, no sickness, not a care in the world! Except that your dad here on Earth misses you so much sweet baby. Don't forget to remind him every now and then that you love and miss him too and are always with him in spirit. I hope you were there to greet my little Cleo when she got there in April- can you give her a nuzzle for me? Her mama misses her so. Time may heal our pain but our hearts NEVER forget our babies. One day our tears of sorrow will turn to tears of joy when we are reunited with our beloved pets forever. Rest softly sweet Angel. http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/CLEO028/Resident.htm

Aspen - what a beautiful stance you have and such a good looking guy that you are! Send your dad some kisses from the Rainbow to let him know that you are safe, happy, healthy and have made a lot of fur friends. Let dad know that God has appointed you to be the guardian, protector to watch over him until he is called to the Bridge one day to join you. I will tell my Brande to find you and play with you. To Robert - I send you my deepest regrets over the loss of Aspen. I too lost my soulmate not long ago, see Brande http://rainbowsbridge.com/residents/BRAND167/Resident.htm - We know that God has promised we will be with our babies again one day. I leave this quote with you, "heaven is the only place where all the dogs and cats you have ever loved will come running to meet you." Author Unknown
